Diamonds is a girl's best friend

Shiny new super-group of my heart Mister Heavenly includes my beloved Unicorn Nick Diamonds as well as Joe Plummer, lately of Modest Mouse, and Honus Honus of Man Man. I am actively choosing not to hold against them that apparently sometimes Micheal Cera plays bass.
They will be at the Scoot Inn on Monday Dec 13, and so will I.
They have 0 songs out, but here is scratchy live video that convinces me they know how to make things fun.

  1. Funny, Michael Cera playing bass looks like Michael Cera playing every other character he has ever played in a movie.

But this song is good, and I might join Emily on December 13.

FreshMillions was featured on NPR's song of the day. They are dance-ably delightful. Their album is in rotation at KVRX, home of the semifrequent LC Radio Spot.

  3. Peter is correct. I'm not sure Micheal Austin Cera is even ever acting, given how adorable, awkward, and teenaged he came across last night. He mentioned his middle name repeatedly, and kicked off the encore by struggling through an extended mostly solo keyboard piece. It added rather than detracted though, and the show was fun. There was good contrast between Nick Diamonds girly voice and Honus Honus's Waitsy gravel. Fresh Millions didn't wow me though. Verdict on Mister Heavenly: I like it, but if you don't like the Islands probably don't bother.
