Nothing New

Solander isn't doing anything groundbreaking.

They sound like any sad-twee bands on Morr Music or Labrador. Their album Passing Mt. Satu could be confused with one from B. Fleischmann or Sin Fang Bous, all of whom manage to make simple pop songs that always border on melancholy.

But I'm ok with that.

Not every band needs to be an avant-garde Radiohead/Bjork lovechild. Sometimes you just want to listen to sad-sweet pop.

And then you listen to Solander.
