Kate Tempest is a young (19-20?) poet/rapper from London. She wrote/recorded
a book already, receiving critical acclaim (I don't know shit about poetry, so I wouldn't know if it's good). The name of her band is 'Sound of Rum'. They have officially released 'Slow Slow' as a single, with a couple of good remixes. I've been listening to it on heavy rotation, while I wait anxiously for a full length release.
How did I end up hooked on a 'spoken word' act? I really don't know. but I think it has to do with the sweet, Joplin-esque coarseness of her voice.
